Paul's Professional Path
Paul’s career includes over 19 years as an employee of The Boeing Company, with extensive experience in engineering, finance, operations, information technology, shared services, and management. Initially Paul was responsible for developing Engineering budgets & project performance reports. When in Finance, Paul was responsible
for cost analysis, estimating, pricing, and financial analysis for new & derivative airplane programs.
He developed the parametric estimating model used to establish the Board of Directors Go-ahead estimate for the 757 Airplane Program.
Paul leveraged his financial and computing expertise to become a decision support systems consultant for Boeing Computer Services. He
soon applied his finance, information systems,
and consulting skills to the field of project management. Paul became an expert consultant
& trainer, based on the project management
best practices learned at one of America’s
most admired companies.
As a senior consultant, he supported both
internal Boeing organizations and clients in
private industry & the public sector including: Abbott Laboratories, American International
Group, Boeing Corporate Internal Audit, Boeing Facilities, Boeing Finance, City of Calgary, David Sarnoff Research Center, General Dynamics,
Phillips Petroleum, Seattle Public Schools,
US Navy, and US West Communications.
In 1987, after attaining an MBA and building a sound experience base of consulting projects,
Paul left Boeing to establish an independent management consulting practice.
Paul's practice focused on project management consulting for diverse organizations in a variety of industries & public agencies, including: Information Technology/Security, Engineering, Research & Development, Software Development, Transportation Planning, Human Resources, and Social & Health Services. He developed custom training programs, for numerous organizations throughout the United States, Canada, & Europe. And he delivered coaching & mentoring services for staff in both public agencies & major corporations.
Paul’s been a member of The Project Management Institute (PMI) since 1986, and has been privileged to work with internationally recognized leaders in project management.
After an absence of 13 years, Paul returned to
The Boeing Company to provide Senior Project Management Specialist services. He worked on
a variety of sensitive projects in information technology, medical & benefits services, global staffing, finance & audit. In IT, he worked on the enterprise-wide deployment of Windows 2000,
the initial Sarbanes Oxley implementation, a major corporate divestiture, and a number of high-profile IT security initiatives.
Performance improvement is a common theme on many projects & initiatives. Paul has specialized training in Six Sigma, LEAN, and AGILE; and has used their principles & practices to support organizational performance initiatives in variety of business functions. Paul retired from The Boeing Company in 2015.
